TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- According to a police report, victim Fabian Miller of Crawfordville told police he followed a suspect who pointed a gun at him and drove off in his car just to get a better description for police.

"Of course this scared the victim terribly and he immediately called 911 and officers got into the area very quickly," said Officer Dave Northway with the Tallahassee Police Department.

Miller said the suspect was driving a small, blue SUV. He also said the car was possibly a Hyundai or a Honda, details Miller may not have seen if he hadn't followed.

So what should you do if you find yourself in a similar situation?

"We would suggest that the best thing to do is what you feel is best for you," said Officer Northway. "We would never ask someone to put themselves in danger."

Officer Northway says if you witness a crime or an incident like this, call the authorities and do whatever feels safe, even if that means driving or running in the opposite direction.

"The authorities are the ones that are equipped with the people, the manpower and the equipment, in order to find these gentlemen, the 'bad guys' if you will," said Officer Northway, "and we are the ones that are going to try and catch them."
