TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Sometimes there's nothing better than breakfast foods for dinner, and a local restaurant is celebrating an idea we love on the holiday all about hearts!
Chef Nic Tedio from Tallahassee's Uptown Cafe joined us on WTXL Sunrise for another What's to Eat.
The family-owned cafe is hosting its third annual Valentine's Day "Brinner" - or brunch for dinner!
The entire menu will be available for this lovely event, including the award-winning Smoked Salmon on Ciabatta.
Tedio showed us what makes this sandwich so special.
It all starts with custom-ordered multi-grain ciabatta rolls. Both sides are then smeared with Uptown's homemade garlic dill cream cheese.
Then comes the real star: Uptown's famous apricot glazed smoked salmon. This fresh piece of fresh takes hours to prepare, and it's well worth the wait when it's ready!
The stuffed sandwich is then topped with fresh tomato slices and fresh spinach, which are brought in daily.
The Tedio family calls it "unique, hearty, healthy, and delicious!" It's been voted one of the Top 9 sandwiches in Tallahassee.
You can out the sweet salmon treat plus other brunch favorites. And owner Fred Tedio will be in a tux!
The Valentine's Day Brinner is Saturday, February 13 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Uptown Cafe (1325 Miccosukee Road).
Reservations are suggested, but walk-ins are accepted. Call (850) 219-9800.
Remember you can catch What's to Eat every Friday morning on WTXL Sunrise.
