MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - A man wanted in Madison County is now facing more charges following a recent arrest.

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart says at about 9:42 p.m. on August 15, a Madison County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) deputy pulled over a vehicle for faulty equipment on SW Parramore Avenue. 32-year-old Shelton Sanders of Madison was a passenger in that car. The deputy recognized him and knew that he had an active arrest warrant. After he was placed under arrest, the deputy quickly made another discovery.

The deputy says he found a small plastic straw in Sanders' pocket that contained cocaine. During a search of the car, deputies say they found a small plastic bag of the drug, hidden between the back seat cushions where Sanders was sitting.

Sanders was taken to the Madison County jail, charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
