JACKSON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A registered sex offender from Jackson County is found in New York, after deputies spent the week searching for him.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, John Crutchfield failed to notify deputies of his new address change and failed to register as scheduled in October.
Investigators say they received a tip leading them to Spring Valley, New York. Deputies notified the police department there. They say officers were presented with information on the 48-year-old.
Upon leaving the briefing, investigators say a Spring Valley officer found Crutchfield walking down the side of a road. He was arrested without incident, and the sheriff's office says he is being held locally while transport back to Florida is arranged.
