WAKULLA, Fla. (WTXL)--The Wakulla County Sheriff's office is hosting a teen driver challenge this week, to make sure the new drivers are ready to handle whatever comes at them on the road.
The challenge, which starts Monday, puts the teens through driving exercises in a controlled environment.
They practiced figure 8s and serpentine exercises at the fire training center, even wearing goggles that simulated impaired driving.
According to the Sheriff's Office, it's important for the teens to keep these lessons in mind this Holiday season, when millions of drivers are expected to hit the road.
Fifteen drivers are enrolled in this week's class. They will continue exercises on the course, through Tuesday.
The Sheriff's Office says the next challenge will be happening sometime next month. Dates for that challenge are yet to be announced.
