WAKULLA CO., Fla. (WTXL) - Wakulla County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) deputies are celebrating a first place win in the Florida Department of Transportations 2014 Law Enforcement Challenge.

They placed first in category 5, which includes a force of 41 to 75 officers or deputies.

With the award, they are given 15,000 points, which translates to $15,000 to acquire safety related traffic equipment.

WCSO Sheriff Charlie Creel told WTXL ABC27 he wants to use that money to buy two new message boards.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office was also recognized. They were awarded first place for agencies with 25 to 40 officers.

They will be using their 15,000 points to replace some antiquated in-car video recording systems.
