WAKULLA COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- Friday was the deadline for applications for the Tourism Grants in Wakulla County. These grants go to local individuals, businesses, and organizations, providing up to $1,000 to be used to reimburse event marketing expenses.
Wakulla officials sat that it's a huge benefit to the county. Diane Bardhi of the Wakulla County Tourism Development Council says "These events bring in thousands of visitors to the community and they're a vital part of our economic growth in the county. Our goal at the TDC is to continue growing the tourism to our beautiful county."
In the past, the grants have been used to reimburse the marketing for events like the Stone Crab Festival, the Blue Crab Festival, Rock the Dock Tournaments and many more.
