WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Members of the Wakulla County One-Cent Sales Tax Committee want to hear from you on where you'd like to see your tax dollars pay for.
A public meeting is scheduled for Friday night.
WTXL ABC's Jada Williams was live Friday morning with a breakdown.
The one cent sales tax in Wakulla covers four categories: infrastructure, public facilities, public safety, and parks and recreation.
The one cent sales tax takes one percent from the seven percent in sales taxes that you pay, but when combined those pennies add up.
The committee meets biannually to address what needs the most attention and what needs less funding.
"Obviously we're a small knit community," said Joe Morgan, the Wakulla One Cent Sales Tax Committee chairman. "Just about everybody knows everybody, so we definitely want people's input on this this. It's what we'll be able to bring back to the meeting to start implementing changes if any need to be made."
That meeting starts at 3 p.m. Friday in the Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners Administration Conference Room
Recommendations at that meeting will then be presented to the Board of County Commissioners.
