Wakulla County Detectives Find Equipment Stolen From Construction Site

WAKULLA COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A piece of stolen machinery that was stolen from a work site in Wakulla County has been recovered. The equipment costs $26,000, according to the sheriff's office.

On Thursday, detectives from the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office found a piece of heavy machinery that was stolen back in early July.

A pneumatic air hammer/pile driver was stolen from Ben Withers Construction while they're were working on Surf Road, according to police.

Through interviews, detectives say that they were able to trace the location of the item to Leon County, where they found Jesse Reade Ward, 35, and the Leon County Sheriff's Office arrested him for grand theft.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office returned the items to their owners.
