WAKULLA, Co., FL (WTXL) - A Wakulla County woman was arrested after deputies say she stabbed her mother with a knife on Tuesday.
The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says they were called out to the home on South Springwood Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
When they arrived, they found the victim, 62-year-old Donetta Sterling, on the first floor of the home suffering from multiple cuts including one to her neck.
A search of the home allowed deputies to find the suspect, Deborah Sterling, on the second floor of the building.
There were two children in the home, an 11-year-old and a 17-year-old. Deputies say the two were interviewed and told deputies there was an argument that turned physical.
Deputies also say one of the children hit the suspect in the head in an attempt to stop the attack.
Deborah Sterling is being charged with attempted first degree murder and deputies say her mother is in stable condition.
