WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners approve the fiscal year 2017-2018 budget of nearly 80 million dollars.
In the budget, it includes the millage rate set at 8.0351 mills, which is equal to the roll-back rate.
Funding for the current level of service and operations is set to continue the for all county offices and a 2 percent cost of living allotment for county employees.
Also, a one cent sales tax funding for improvements to local parks and roadways.
Some other highlights on this budget are as follows:
- Loan proceed funding for construction of a new fire station on Trice Lane
- Funding from DOH and One Cent Sales Tax for the purchase of one additional ambulance
- Funding from DOT for road resurfacing projects on Smith Creek Hwy., MLK Jr. Memorial Rd., Cajer Posey Rd., Ivan Church Rd., and Phase 2 of Shadeville Hwy.
- Funding from NWFWMD to continue sewer expansion in portions of Wakulla and Magnolia Gardens.
