VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - New details coming to light on the suspicious package call Valdosta Police received.
Police responded to Perimeter Self Storage on Inner Perimeter Road Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Police say the package in question was on the property near a dumpster. Officers say it looked like some sort of explosive device. That's when they blocked off Inner Perimeter Road between North Oak Street Extension and Country Club road. Nearby businesses were told to evacuate. The GBI bomb unit came out.
It turns out the device was a prop, designed to look like a bomb. Police say a man who did video production work was cleaning out his storage unit and threw the prop away.
No charges were filed.
