VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Don't be scammed by a Police Action Fund letter, the Valdosta Police Department says.
VPD says people are reporting receiving letters from a Police Action Fund requesting money. It is "an effort to defraud our citizens," according to a VPD Facebook post.
"We in law enforcement appreciate the tremendous support we have in Valdosta and South Georgia," VPD said. "But as the attached letter reflects, many are receiving letters like the one.
VPD advises to call the chief's office at 229-293-3101 or your local law enforcement agency before sending any money.
