VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Police in Valdosta are investigating the death of a nine-year-old child.
Police Chief Brian Childress says they received a call early Tuesday morning.
The child was found dead at a home in the Moulton-Branch Subdivision, off Inner Perimeter Road.
The body was sent to Shands Hospital in Gainesville for an autopsy.
The results are expected Wednesday.
The child was a student at J.L. Lomax Elementary.
Children who attend the school were sent home with a letter stating a student had died.
