MIAMI (AP) - Voting has started smoothly across Florida.
Precincts in Eastern Standard Time opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday, and precincts in the Panhandle opened an hour later.
The U.S. Justice Department has been monitoring Florida for voting irregularities, and those efforts will continue at polling places on Election Day. U.S. Attorney's Offices statewide are working with the FBI to investigate any voting complaints.
More than 3 million Floridians voted early.
Floridians are deciding whether to legalize medical marijuana, dedicate billions of dollars to conservation efforts and let the outgoing governor fill three expected vacancies on the state Supreme Court in 2019. Only two of the state's 27 congressional districts are expected to be close, but the race for governor between has been tight for weeks as well as bitter and personal.
