LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Supervisor of Elections Office is honoring veterans during the primary elections.
The Vote in Honor of a Veteran Program is a statewide initiative.
Participants that submit a photo and a biography for display on the Wall of Honor on the Leon County Elections website will receive a commemorative pin honoring those who served.
"The importance of voting and the sacrifices that have been made in honor of democracy," said Mark Earley, Leon County Supervisor of Elections. "I think it's our obligation as voters to honor that sacrifice of our elections and get out and vote and have a part in your own government."
The initiative started at the beginning of this year and the Leon County Supervisor of Elections is hopeful more people will participate.
