TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Big Bend Continuum of Care will host their annual Point in Time Count this upcoming January.

In the New Year, Continuums of Care (CoCs) nationwide will conduct their PIT count, where volunteers survey homeless individuals that live in unsheltered areas.

Volunteers are needed to conduct personal interviews in neighborhoods in our community from Tuesday, January 23 through Thursday, January 25.

These interviews play an important role when trying to understand the specific needs of individuals and families, who require social services and permanent housing.

To support these efforts, you can donate the following items to the Big Bend Continuum of Care

  • $5 gift cards (fast food, grocery stores, Walmart, Target) for interviewees
  • Snacks & bottled water
  • Items to distribute (gloves, socks, blankets/sleeping bags, baby wipes, personal hygiene items, tents, etc.)

After you register to volunteer, you will receive further information about the PIT training and PIT surveying in each county.
