TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With only weeks to go until one of the biggest parades in the region, volunteers are getting excited.

Celebrating 50 years strong, Springtime Tallahassee organizers held a breakfast Wednesday morning at Bloxham Park.

Volunteers geared up to serve a hearty, old-fashioned country breakfast under the tents between Monroe and Calhoun Streets, to more than 1,500 people.

Tickets were just eight dollars for the price of food and fellowship.

"It's the primary fundraiser for our Andrew Jackson staff, which is the travelling crew," said Rob Fisher, the 46th Andrew Jackson of Springtime Tallahassee. "And we go visit other festivals around the state of Florida in hopes of having them come visit us for our festival weekend."
