TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - A new parking App is causing quite a stir in Tallahassee.

There will no longer be free visitor parking in many apartments around campuses. It's because of a new app called Park n Pay. There will be a sign in front of each visitor parking space, once a visitor downloads the App they can scan a code on that sign. Visitors will then put in their info and pay for the spot.

Not everyone is thrilled about the new smart parking App.

Florida State University student Travis Jarboe says, “I think that's pretty unfortunate for us, the residents here and for our friends. This is the first I've actually heard of that, so I'm not too happy about it. They didn't say a word to me about it when I signed the lease, so just hearing about it now is pretty unpleasant, an unpleasant surprise I guess you could say."

Visitors to the complexes can use the App to pay for parking with either a credit or debit card. Payments can also be made to the company's website.
