TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--A brand new dorm on the FAMU campus had its official opening.
Around 800 students are calling the Village dormitory on Gamble Street their home.
The new dormitory cost more than $39 million to build. FAMU administrators say the opening of the dorm marks a "new era of excellence for the school" and that it fits into their long term plan to transform the campus for students into a more vibrant community.
