CHARLOTTE, NC (WTXL) - The family of a former Florida A&M University football player who was shot and killed held a candlelight vigil in Marshal Park in Charlotte Wednesday night.
Jonathan Ferrell, who was unarmed at the time, had just been in a car accident when he was shot and killed by a Charlotte police officer on Sept. 14, 2013.
Dozens gathered on Wednesday to reflect on the past and present law enforcement procedures. Ferrell's family said that they will do everything in their power to make sure no one ever forgets him.
On Saturday, his family said they will lay a wreath where he was shot and killed.
