The incident occurred on Sept. 27 when Forest Park Police received a call for a fight in progress in the Winton Woods high School's east parking lot. When officers responded, Benson had just departed the parking lot.

Police pulled Benson's car over a short time later and placed her under arrest.

The principal at Winton Woods reportedly told police Benson was yelling obscenities in the parking lot before driving off.

The hammer was taken into evidence by police.

Two other people were also facing charges in the incident. Miyonna Allen, 21, is facing disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing charges. Dominick Lackey, 26, is facing assault and criminal trespassing charges.

Benson is due in court on Oct. 30.
