CLEARWATER, FL (WWSB) – Seven manatees were found stranded Wednesday afternoon near Palm Pavilion on Clearwater beach.
The Clearwater Fire and Rescue Department were called to the scene to help the stranded manatees back into the water. When they arrived around 3 p.m., only three manatees remained on the beach.
They believe the manatees were pushed ashore due to high winds and waves while they were travelling in shallow water.
Firefighters and the public teamed together to help these manatees return back into the Gulf of Mexico.
