TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating an early Thursday morning shooting that left a female with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred near FAMU at 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Gamble Street and Perry Street.

They say that an initial investigation shows that there was a large party at 1446 Gamble Street, which drew a large crowd to the area.

As the party continued, gunshots were fired and the victim, now identified as 19-year-old Alexus Singleton, was shot, causing a non-life threatening wound.

Police are hoping that a witness from the crowd will come forward with information that will lead to an arrest.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to please contact TPD at 606-5800 or (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
