CRAWFORDVILLE, FL (WTXL) - Authorities are releasing more information on a homicide investigation in Crawfordville.
According to the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office, Charles Brow is being held for murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Deputies say Brow told officials in Santa Rosa County he killed his girlfriend in Crawfordville.
The 53-year-old was already in custody in Santa Rosa county for an alcohol related incident and authorities say he volunteered the information about the murder.
On Sunday, deputies went to the home on Cajer Posey Road for a welfare check, inside they found the body of Laura Wilkins.
Officials say the 41-year-old was killed from a single gunshot and the weapon was recovered from the vehicle Brow was driving. Wilkins leaves behind two sons.
According to authorities, Brow has an extensive criminal history. He was arrested earlier this year for domestic violence against Wilkins.
