TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A heavy law enforcement presence on the street, a helicopter circling over head, and a motorcade of black SUV's are all in town today escorting presidential cargo.

Well it was super hush, hush but Vice President Joe Biden is in town for the day.

He is at a private fundraiser helping to raise money for U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy in his campaign to win the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Marco Rubio.

In regards to Murphy's campaign Biden said, "I think we got a quality candidate. One of the things I said today, we need more young people running to encourage people to engage."

Murphy is running against Alan Grayson for Florida Senate in the Democratic Primary and is happy to have the support from Biden.

The vice president also took a break from campaigning to stop by Olean's Home Cooking, a soul food restaurant near FAMU's campus. The restaurant owner, Olean McCaskill was thrilled.

"That was a fantastic experience. I'm overjoyed," said McCaskill.

The winner of the Democratic Primary Aug. 30th will then compete against the winner of the Republican Primary, either Marco Rubio or Carlos Beruff.
