TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Wednesday as part of National Hire a Veteran Day, employers across the country are asked to consider servicemen and women to fill open positions in their businesses.

Veterans Florida, a non-profit corporation that helps those who are in service transition to civilian life, provides the essential tools for vets to take advantage of the benefits of living and working in the Sunshine State.

Bobby Carbonell, the Executive Director, says hiring a veteran is a great advantage for a business, because of the skills they learned while serving our country.

"Veterans have done so much for our country and sacrificed so much for our nation, but they also have incredible skills that they've learned from their military careers," said Carbonell. "The employers can put that to work to help build the economy of the state here in Florida and across Tallahassee."
