PERRY, Fla., (WTXL) -- A man suffers serious injuries after an accident sent his vehicle into a power pole in Taylor County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Dwain Sinclair, 83, of Perry was traveling eastbound on County Road 356C Thursday morning when he failed to yield while turning left onto U.S. 27.

They say that’s when the right side of Sinclair’s Chevy Impala collided with a semi-truck, driven by 55 year-old Charles Padgett of Steinhatchee, Florida.

FHP reports, the semi then hit a residence at 2971 East U.S. 27.  Sinclair’s car rotated several times, before crashing into a power pole.

According to FHP, Crews arrived on scene at 10:24am. Drivers were told to use extreme caution as southbound lanes were completely blocked for some time.

They say Padgett did not suffer any injuries.

Sinclair had serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

He is cited for failing to yield right of way at an intersection.
