VALDOSTA, GA. - On March 26, 2015, the American Red Cross' South Georgia Chapter will host the HEROES Recognition Event.
People in the Valdosta community are coming together the recognize the contributions of local veteran heroes in our community. The HEROES event recognizes those whose acts of courage or kindness label them as a hero. This event gives members of the community the chance to pay their respects to these local individuals and hear their stories of courageous acts unfold.
This fundraiser sponsored by Red Cross of South Georgia is just one of the many chapters nationwide that partake in this event. One Georgia chapter has an attendance of 300-400 people each year.
Proceeds from this HEROES event go toward the American Red Cross of South Georgia programs and emergency services. Serving 21 counties, the American Red Cross hopes to host yet another successful fundraiser for the South Georgia community.
