VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Students of Lowndes County and Valdosta City school districts started the first day school an hour early this year.
Enrollment is up this year in the county by 65 students, making their grand total of students 10,317.
Parents and students were eager to get the day started Monday.
First grader Tyson Davis says he's ready to work but most importantly he's ready to play, ready for recess.
Elementary schools started at 7:45 a.m, middle schools at 8:30 a.m. and the high school at 8:15 a.m.
