VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)-- Valdosta State University is preparing for worst case scenario. School leaders are conducting an on-campus active shooter drill on Friday.
The exercise is being coordinated by Valdosta State's Office of Environmental and Occupational Safety and Lowndes County Emergency Management.
The drill includes law enforcement officers from VSU Police, Valdosta Police Department, and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
A notification when the drill begins will be sent to VSU faculty, staff, and students via the Campus Alert System. At the conclusion of the drill, a second notification issuing an “all clear” will also be sent to faculty, staff and students via the Campus Alert System.
