VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Valdosta State University's Homecoming has officially started and the university said that it will kick off its Homecoming Week with an 80's themed party.
From Monday to Sunday, the university has invited the entire community to join in on the festivities. The week will feature events like the Alumni and Friends Annual Golf Tournament, a pep rally, and an 80's Concert.
The events will lead up to the big football game on Saturday between VSU and Delta State University and a volleyball game on Sunday against the University of West Georgia.
"We think we have a fun-filled week prepared for our current students and a weekend stacked with events for the returning alumni," shared Dr. Kelli R. Brown, interim president of VSU.
The first event scheduled is the Blazin' Downtown Throw-Down, which is set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the lawn of the Lowndes County Courthouse. The event will feature performances from cheerleaders, food, and vendors.
