VALDOSTA, GA. (WTXL) - Valdosta announces a change for its holiday schedule.
The City of Valdosta will be closed for New Year's Day holidays.
The Sanitation Division will not collect residential garbage, recyclables or yard waste on Thursday, Jan. 1. Citizens who normally have their sanitation collected on Thursdays should place their garbage, recyclables and yard waste at the curbside by 5 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2 for both Thursday and Friday pickups.
Yard waste and special pickups use additional vehicles and manpower, citizens are urged to minimize the amount of yard trash they place curbside and any calls for special pickup requests throughout the adjusted holiday schedule.
