Valdosta, GA (WTXL) - Georgia Department of transportation will be performing a roadway audit along one of the main roads of Valdosta State University's campus.
The goal is to evaluate traffic safety along Patterson Street following the death of a VSU student that was hit by a truck while walking along a crosswalk on campus.
Corey Hull, the coordinator for the Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Organization tells us that he hopes this will serve as an on the job training for their employees, as well as help the city of Valdosta to learn how to perform more efficient safety roadway audits in the future.
The audit on Patterson Street will begin April 14th through the 16th.
