VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) -- The Valdosta Regional Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Station opened its new fire house.
The new building will have plenty of new equipment such as recharging air systems and washing turn out gear. Plus, the station has two fire trucks on-site that are specifically made for aircrafts. Valdosta Regional Airport is also contracted with the city of Valdosta to have two trained fire fighters on duty at all times at the new station, to illustrate just how important safety is to the airport.
"We are here for our personal safety and the safety of travel," said Executive Director and Airport Manager Jim Galloway.
