VALDSOTA, GA (WTXL) -- The Valdosta Regional Airport was evacuated and flight operations were suspended Tuesday after a report of a suspicious package.
The box was found in the parking lot of the Valdosta Regional Airport. The airport was evacuated as a precaution.
"In this instance, several public safety agencies (VPD, LCSO, GBI Bomb Squad, and the Valdosta Fire Department) worked together to evaluate the incident and to make sure there was absolutely no threat to public safety," released Valdosta Police.
As it turned out the suspicious box was a pressure cooker pot. Investigators are following up this investigation to see who left the pot behind. However, no foul play is expected.
