(WTXL) - A suspect in the death of a 40-year-old man found in a parking lot has been arrested in Melbourne, Fla., according to the Valdosta Police Department. 

Police say Ian Rashad Henry, 23, was arrested Saturday by the Melbourne Police Department and is being held pending extradition back to Lowndes County. 

Henry was wanted in the slaying of Stephen Styles, who was prononced dead on the scene on Nov. 12, 2018.

“We greatly appreciate the work of the Melbourne Police Department in their persistent hard work, to ensure that this dangerous individual was taken off of the streets," said Interim Chief Leslie Manahan.


Valdosta police seek suspect in slaying of 40-year-old man

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department is looking for a suspect in the death of a 40-year-old man found in a parking lot. 

Police are seeking Ian Rashad Henry, 23, who they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

Stephen Styles was found shot on Nov. 12, 2018, in Blanton Commons in the 1500 block of Lankford Drive. He was pronounced dead there. 

Police responded to that scene in response to a call for emergency assistance.

The VPD is asking that anyone who knows Henry's location to telephone them.


Police investigate slaying of 40-year-old man in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Police are investigating after a 40-year-old man was found dead in the parking lot of a local apartment complex. 

The Valdosta Police Department says that they were called to Blanton Commons in 1500 block of Lankford Drive around 12:44 a.m. on Monday. The caller reported that a victim had been shot.

When police and Lowndes County deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive victim, later identified as 40-year-old Stephen Styles, in the parking lot of the apartment complex. 

Styles was pronounced dead on scene. 

VPD detectives are continuing to investigate the homicide and crime scene technicians with the Valdosta/Lowndes Regional Crime Lab are also processing the scene for evidence.

Police report the incident appears to be isolated, though the motive is unclear. The investigation is still active.
