Valdosta Police were called to help Valdosta State Probation Tuesday night just before 8 on Lowndes Drive at Pineview Drive.

Probation officers were checking on probationer Wendell Baisden.

Officers say Baisden was sitting in a car, and was leaning over toward the driver side. They say when a probation officer opened the passenger door, Baisden put the car into gear and pushed the accelerator.

The passenger door hit the probation officer who fell to the ground. Baisden then ran away.
