VALDOSTA, Ga. -- Valdosta police are looking for suspects in two separate robberies that happened Thursday night.

Police responded to the scene of the first robbery at about 11:13 p.m. on October 3. Police say that the victim, Jaiwon Jang, told officers that he was attempting to walk home to his apartment in the 400 block of W. Mary Street when two men approached him. One reportedly held up a gun and demanded money.

Jang told the suspects he didn't have any money. One of the offenders told Jang that they needed to get his debit card, so they followed him home.

While the robbers were in his home, Jang told police they took several items and forced him to accompany them to an ATM to withdraw money from his account. After they received enough cash, the two men fled the scene.

The ATM was located on the campus of Valdosta State University. The responding officers combed the campus and surrounding area for the suspects, but were unable to find them.

While officers were searching, they were approached by another victim, John McWilliams, who said that he had been approached by two strange men. The suspects attempted to rob McWilliams at gunpoint, but were unable to get any items or money from him.

Detectives are investigating these two incidents, which they believe involved the same two men.

According to the police investigation, the suspects were described as African American males, both tall and slender, one wearing a white t-shirt with long black shorts, and the other wearing a blue t-shirt.

Anyone having any further information regarding this crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145 or can remain anonymous at 229-293-3091.
