Valdosta Police Respond To An Unattended Child Death

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Valdosta Police responded to report of an unresponsive child Monday morning. However, when officers arrived they found that the child had passed away.

Police responded the the report at approximately 7:27am Monday at an apartment on East Hill Avenue.

Inside the residence, police say they found 14-month-old Adalin Bridges had already passed away. VPD says that she was unattended at the time.

Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department Persons Crime Unit and Crime Scene Technicians from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to investigate.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, but the cause of death has not been determined, according to VPD. Police say that the medical examiner is conducting further investigation into the case.

VPD is still investigating and working with the medical examiner and the District Attorney's Office.
