VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - A Valdosta man is behind bars after police say he stabbed his girlfriend in front of their 8-month-old child.
The Police Department says they responded to a home on Way Street Tuesday afternoon just before 4 p.m.
When they arrived, they found 22-year-old Jasmine Nelson had been stabbed several times in the torso.
Officers say some kind of fight took place between Nelson and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Tevin Love and that he stabbed her repeatedly with a knife during the altercation.
This all happening in front of their 8-month-old who was not injured during the incident.
Authorities say Nelson is in stable condition and Love is being charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children, and possession of a knife during the commission of felony.
