Valdosta Police looking for suspect in Dollar General armed robbery

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Police are looking for a man accused of robbing a Valdosta store at gunpoint Wednesday night and tying up the employees.

The armed robbery suspect, described as 20 - 30 years of age, stands about 5' 9" and weighs about 160 pounds, a news release from the Valdosta Police Department said.

He fled from the Dollar General, at 810 Madison Highway, with an undisclosed amount of cash at about 9:20 p.m.

Employees of the store were freed and found to be uninjured by Valdosta Police Department officers and Lowndes County Sheriff's Office deputies.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident is asked to contact the Valdosta Police Department.
