VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place Tuesday night in Valdosta.
On Tuesday, at about 10:00 p.m., VPD responded to an apartment in the 1400 block of Baytree Drive in response to an armed robbery.
VPD states multiple police unites responded to the call. When officers arrived to the scene, they talked with the victim who said that the suspect broke into his apartment.
The victim told officers that the suspect was armed with a weapon and demanded property. The suspect then left the apartment with an undisclosed amount of property and fled the scene.
The victim reported no injuries during the incident.
Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigations Person’s Crimes detectives were notified and are actively investigating the incident.
“At this point the case appears to be an isolated incident and we already have identified a person of interest as an offender,” stated Chief Brian Childress.
