VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 400 block of North Troup Street that injured two.
They said that on Wednesday, around 3:30 a.m., officers with the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 700 block of Lausanne Drive in reference to a report that someone had been shot by an unknown person.
When they arrived on scene, they were able to find the victim.
Police officers gave the victim first aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is listed in good condition.
An investigation revealed that 4 different people were in a car, including the victim, when the car was shot at by unknown suspects in another car. When the victim was shot, the other three occupants ran away from the car, leaving the victim behind.
Based on evidence found, the incident was determined to have happened in the 400 block of N. Troup Street.
The victim told police that they did not personally know the three people they were riding with in the car during the incident.
VPD said that a second victim went to the hospital almost 24 hours later after the shooting was reported with a minor gunshot wounds, but never notified police beforehand.
The second victim was also unable to provide information regarding the identity of the shooter. This victim was also listed in good condition.
Detectives are still attempting to identify the shooter in this case as well as the additional two subjects that fled during the original incident.
