TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's that time of year again, where children get to pair up with law enforcement for some Christmas shopping.

The 13th annual Shop with a Cop will take place December 18 at the Walmart on Inner Perimeter Road in Valdosta at 7 p.m.The Valdosta Police Department is still accepting monetary donations to make sure underprivileged youth have a Christmas to remember.

If you want to get a return on your donation come over there that night to Walmart and just watch,"said Officer Randal Handcock. "Hangout by the toy section and watch those kids faces while they're spending that money. That's all you need to know. Soon as you see that, you'll understand."

For a child to be eligible, they must live within Lowndes County, be between the ages of 4 and 11 years old, be referred by a law enforcement officer, teacher, school counselor or principal, and must not have been selected for Shop with a Cop before.
