VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Two juveniles face burglary charges after Valdosta police arrested them in the act of breaking into a church Sunday evening.

An anonymous caller informed police of the break in at the church, in the 800 block of West Magnolia Street.

About 8:30 p.m. Sunday, an officer saw the two juveniles at the rear of the church, where a window had been broken. The two were trying to enter the church.

One juvenile fled the scene but other officers soon found the juvenile attempting to hide underneath a car. That juvenile faces the additional charge of misdemeanor obstruction.

Police Chief Brian Childress said the teenagers - one 13, the other 14 - are facing felony charges through the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.

"Until we as parents and guardians start supervising our children and holding them accountable, this will continue to be a problem," Childress said.
