VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta Police Department is sending out a reminder Friday to help keep motorists safe while out on the roads.
This after a tractor-trailer rolled over Friday morning on Highway 84.
VPD says the semi-truck made a left turn onto Inner Perimeter Road from Highway 84, causing a 25,000 pound sheet of steel to shift, causing the semi-trailer to roll over.
Police remind folks to stay back from trucks carrying overly-sized cargo and to pay attention to signs posted on the back of trucks.
"Again, you've got thousands and thousands of pounds on man-made things such as tires and brakes and a metal trailer," said Lieutenant Adam Bembry. "Things are going to tear up, they're going to break, unforeseen things."
No one was injured in the accident and damage to the road is currently being repaired.
