Valdosta man dies from injuries sustained in Brooks County crash

BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - A Valdosta man dies from injuries sustained during a car accident in Brooks County.

Thomas Eason, 65, of Valdosta died at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on March 29. 

On March 27, around 5:05 p.m. Georgia State Patrol was called to a crash with injuries on North Webster Street. 

According to GSP, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on North Webster Street approaching GA 333 and a Ford Ranger was traveling south on GA 333.  

The Silverado failed to yield at the intersection of North Webster Street which caused the Ranger to hit the front of the Silverado.  

The driver of the Silverado suffered minor injuries to his legs.

The driver of the Ford Ranger is currently at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in critical condition.  

The passenger in the Ford Ranger, Eason, was flown from the scene via Life Flight to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.  

GSP says Eason and the driver of the Silverado were not wearing their seat-belts at the time of the accident. 

On March 29, Eason succumbed to his injuries and died at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. 

Troopers do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a contributing factor in this accident. 

Charges are pending in the accident.
