Valdosta-Lowndes Airport Expansion Talks Held Wednesday

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - The Valdosta-Lowndes Airport Authority met Wednesday to talk about an expansion plan that would increase the area where planes park and refuel.

The improvements would also mean the airport could support two regional jets and one commercial jet at the same time.

That means the commercial airlines' schedule will not affect when charter planes can land or take-off.

Airport officials say the construction should have minimal impact on other airlines operations.

The project is set to begin January 4th, and could be in use as soon as march.
