VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - If you're in Georgia and looking for a firework show that will knock your socks off, the Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority says look no further.
Wednesday, roughly $30,000 worth of explosives will be strategically set off.
Show technicians will fire over 1,800 shots Wednesday night, 800 shots will be during the main event and 1,000 for the finale.
"We had a post this morning that said, 'We hope the show is as good as last year,' and I can guarantee it'll be better than last year," said Rachel Salyards. "Each year we try and build on a show and make it better and better so that everybody enjoys everything involved."
The show is set to start around 9:30 p.m.
Community members are encouraged to park at the Valdosta Mall or the old Toys "R" Us parking lot.
VLPRA says if they are rained out, they will reschedule the show for July 5 if the weather takes a turn for the worst.
